On Tuesday October 29 at noon, the Andover community is invited to a Sneak Peek to tour three duplexes being built at 8 Lupine Road. The Lupine Road project represents the first 100% permanently affordable homeownership community in Andover. Tours will be offered for visitors to hear about these innovative duplexes in both design and affordability.

This construction site showcases the value of partnership among nonprofits, schools, the Town and our religious community by bringing together Andover Community Trust (ACT), Merrimack Valley Habitat for Humanity (MVHH), the Town of Andover, South Church in Andover and the Greater Lawrence Technical School (GLTS). ACT purchased a 1 acre site from South Church Andover; worked with Colin Smith Architecture to design three duplexes of affordable three bedroom ownership units, and partnered with MVHH to build the project. Approximately 200 GLTS students will be part of this construction and will be trained in trades of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC and GLTS's newly instituted landscape program.
These duplexes have been designed to minimize energy consumption including super-insulated walls, roof lines for efficiency and a solar-ready roof. In addition, large windows reduce artificial lighting demands and use of precut lumber eliminates waste. Come join the tours to learn more about these architect-designed features.
The Sneak Peek will include remarks by Andrew Flanagan Andover Town Manager, John LaVoie GLTS superintendent and Norm Rice ACT president.
Light snacks are donated by the Andover Ninety-Nine Restaurant & Pub, Depot Pizza, Stop and Shop.
